"On My Block" follows a quartet of bright, street-savvy friends who are navigating their way through Freeridge High School, including all the of the triumph, pain and newness they experience along the way. Lifelong friendships are tested as Monse, Ruby, Jamal and Cesar confront the challenges of adolescence and life in their predominantly Hispanic and black neighborhood in South Central Los Angeles in this coming-of-age Netflix comedy series. Featured Character  Jamal Turner is a main character on "On My Block". He is portrayed by Brett Gray.
He is a quirky, loud and very funny. He shown to not be able to keep a secret. In season 1, he was drawn by the mystery surrounding the RollerWorld money. He is described to be the "believer" of the group.

Featured Relationship  Monse Finnie and Cesar Diaz, commonly referred to as "Monsar" by fans began as a friendship. It was revealed in Chapter One that they had hooked up before Monse left for writing camp, which was the start of their romantic relationship. They secretly dated until "Chapter Six" as Monse believed it was best they weren't together as it could damage their
friendship with "the crew".
